Canada Student Grants for International Students

International students are eligible for the Canada Student Grant for Full-Time Students if they meet the following criteria:

  • They are enrolled in a full-time program at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
  • They have a valid study permit.
  • They have a low-income.

The amount of the Canada Student Grant for Full-Time Students for international students is up to $4,200 per year.

Canada Student Loans for International Students

International students are also eligible for Canada Student Loans. The amount of the loan you receive will depend on your financial need and the cost of your education.

To be eligible for a Canada Student Loan, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are enrolled in a full-time program at a DLI in Canada.
  • You have a valid study permit.
  • You have a credit history in Canada.

In addition to Canada Student Grants and Loans, the Government of Canada also offers a variety of other student aid supports for international students, such as:

How to Apply for Student Aid

To apply for student aid, you must first create an account with the National Student Loan Service Centre (NSLSC). You can do this online or by calling the NSLSC at 1-888-815-7233.

Once you have created an account, you will be able to apply for student grants and loans. You will need to provide information about your financial need, your other sources of financial assistance, and your education plans.
