Personal Support Worker
The Sault College Personal Support Worker (PSW) program, spanning one year, equips students with essential skills to provide compassionate personal care for various populations, including the elderly, chronically ill individuals, and those facing accessibility challenges. The curriculum focuses on preparing students to support and enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of clients in diverse settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, private agencies, retirement homes, home care, boards of education for special needs children, palliative care settings, senior citizen recreation centers, respite settings, and group homes. Through this program, students engage in meaningful work with clients and their families, fostering the capacity to make a positive impact in the field of personal support.
