Business Administration – Human Resources Management
People are the core of business operations, and human resources ensures the success of both the employees and the enterprise. Develop in-demand skills in managing interpersonal relations and the role that plays in business strategy. This career-track specialization helps students meet course requirements for the Certified Human Resources Professional Designation.
Upon successful completion of the 5.5 credits associated with the Specialization in Human Resource Management, students will have satisfied all of the course requirements for the “Certified Human Resources Professional Designation™” and be eligible to write the National Knowledge Exam.™ By HRPA standards, students must achieve a cumulative average of 70% in all courses, with no individual course mark less than 65%. In order to take the exam, a student must be an enrolled member of the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario, which involves a monetary fee to the Association.
The “Certified Human Resources Professional Designation” is the only legislated certification for Human Resources Professionals in North America. Currently, the HRPA requires the completion of nine subject areas, which are all offered at Trent. CHRP, NKE, and NPPA are trademarks of HRPA and are used under license. Licensing does not equate to program review, approval, or endorsement.
